Seventh seed Cameron Norrie reached the last eight of the Moselle Open in Metz after a hard-fought three-set victory over France’s Arthur Cazaux. Norrie, who recently defeated world number one Carlos Alcaraz at the Paris Masters, won 6-7 (1), 7-6 (7), 6-2 in a match that lasted two hours and 49 minutes.
Norrie started strongly by breaking Cazaux’s serve in the first game. However, the French player quickly responded with a break in the sixth game and took the first set by dominating the tie-break. The second set was closely contested with both players holding serve until Norrie clinched the tie-break to equalize. In the final set, the 30-year-old British player broke serve twice and closed out the match.
