During a recent episode of “The Daily Show,” host Jordan Klepper satirized Andrew Cuomo’s unusual campaign move involving his Ford Bronco, which bears a striking resemblance to O.J. Simpson’s infamous vehicle. Klepper described the former New York governor’s last attempt to outdo mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani as “bizarre.”
“The only man with a chance of perhaps beating Mamdani is Andrew Cuomo, former New York governor, and mayoral candidate most likely to tell the Statue of Liberty she has a hell of an ass,”
Klepper remarked during Tuesday’s show, recorded before election results were finalized. He noted that after losing the primary to Mamdani, Cuomo was continuing his campaign as an independent candidate. Klepper joked that while Mamdani was “out in the clubs,” Cuomo’s final appeal to voters was more “serious and policy-driven.”
The segment then featured a video from Cuomo’s team titled “The Good Luck Truck.” In it, Cuomo proudly showcased his 1996 Ford Bronco, referring to it as “an oldie, but a goodie,” and credited it as his good-luck charm for the election.
“A white, mid-’90s Ford Bronco?”
Klepper asked, feigning confusion. The audience burst into laughter, quickly recognizing the similarity to the vehicle O.J. Simpson was famously chased in during 1994.
“Isn’t that O.J.’s car?”
Klepper exclaimed, mocking Cuomo’s decision to use such a symbol for his closing campaign message. He wryly noted that Cuomo’s last pitch seemed to boil down to owning “the only vehicle on Earth associated with murder.”
Jordan Klepper humorously critiqued Andrew Cuomo’s use of a Ford Bronco resembling O.J. Simpson’s car as a misguided and eccentric finale to his campaign against Zohran Mamdani.
