Massie loses primary challenge in victory for Trump
The race was Trump' most important stop on his revenge tour to oust Republican defectors.

Kentucky contest featured as a costly House-era contest, and a benchmark of Donald Trump's influence inside the GOP. Trump publicly backed Gallrein while Massie attacked Trump on specific votes. Gallrein moves forward to the general election in a deeply Republican district, facing Melissa Strange, a Democrat. Massie was first elected in 2012 and fell into Trump's crosshairs in part by urging the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files and denouncing the war in Iran.
