Latest News About Microsoft cuts Xbox jobs, shuts studios as AI push accelerates

Microsoft recently has cut thousands of jobs in its Xbox division and related projects and ceased operations at several game studios in various locations. Reports say as per sources about half of the staff at id Software the long‑standing studio were impacted. The company also rolled out a $30 lifetime licence for Microsoft Office, bypassing the $6.99 monthly subscription. It unveiled a tool designed for reviving dead PCs without a local Windows copy. In a separate deal, Japanese carrier NYK Line joined forces with Microsoft on a digital transformation project aimed at modernising operations. The moves indicate a shift toward artificial intelligence development as a core focus.
