Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Braydon Fisher was placed on bereavement leave Wednesday, giving him a pause after his father, Don Fisher, died suddenly while traveling to support his child.
The unfortunately death occurred during the intense Jays' series against the Nationals.
The club quickly announced the leave without hesitation.
Fisher issued a concise statement saying his dad was an “amazing” man and that he is focused on his family.
He appreciated fans for encouragement and said he will return to the roster when ready.
